PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality superconductor having high critical temp. and high stability against the lapse of time by forming and heat-treating a calcined powder mixture contg. two specified kinds of element, Cu, copper halide, oxygen and halogen. CONSTITUTION:In the production of an oxide superconductor expressed by A-B-Cu-O-X, wherein A is at least one kind of the group IIIa elements of the periodic table, i.e. Y, Sc, La, Ce, Yb, Er, Dy, Ho, etc.; B is at least one kind of the group IIa elements i.e. Sr, Ba, etc., and at least one kind of the group Ia element, i.e. Cs, etc.; X is at least one kind of halogen element i.e. F, Cl, etc., plural kinds of powder contg. each element A, element B, Cu, copper halide, and at least one kind of the element X are mixed to obtain a powder mixture wherein the proportion of A, B, Cu, copper halide, O, and X are arranged to a specified compositional ratio. The powder mixture is then calcined, and the calcined powder is formed to a desired shape, and obtd. formed body is subjected to heat-treatment required for forming a superconductor. Thus, a target superconductor is obtd. |
