PURPOSE:To complete the installing work of a wiring device by connecting the branching apparatus of a transceiver to a main line cable only when the wiring device is installed by previously setting a receiving connector for data transmission and the transceiver in a united state. CONSTITUTION:A notched section 21 is formed on the edge opposite to the pivoted section of a lid 20 covering the opening 11 of a frame body 12 in such a state that a cable can be drawn out through the notched section 21 even when the lid 20 covers the opening 11. A receiving connector 30 for data transmission is fitted to the shorter inner side face of the inner side faces of a box section 10 and the connector C1 of a cable for data transmission of a computer terminal, etc., led into the box section 10 through the opening 11 is connected with the connector 30. Since a transceiver 40 is directly fitted to the back of the connector 30 in a united state, this wiring device 1 can be installed when the device 1 is put in a floor panel P and a main line cable L for LAN is passed through a branching apparatus 41 for connection.
