PURPOSE:To enable welding without causing crack and positional deviation and to obtain stable light output over a long period of time by introducing a brazing filler metal contg. gold into the contact part between a housing and a stem to join the housing and the stem and providing a brazing filler metal holding part in which the melted brazing filler metal intrudes between the stem and the housing. CONSTITUTION:A groove part 4 is formed in the contact part of the stem 1 coated with gold plating and the housing 3 and the low melting point brazing filler metal 2 having affinity to gold is introduced into this groove part 4 and is irradiated with a YAG laser. The brazing filler metal 2 introduced into the groove part 4 is melted by the YAG laser irradiation by which the stem 1 and the housing 3 are joined. The molten brazing filler metal 2 is, therefore, spread to the inside narrow parts of the brazing filler metal holding part 4 to join the stem 1 and the housing 3. Since the brazing filter metal 2 contains Au and has good affinity to gold, the brazing filler metal absorbs the gold well which is a plating material and is capable of preventing diffusion of the gold into the stem 1 and the housing 3. Welding is thereby executed without causing cracks and positional deviation and the light output stable over a long period of time is obtd. |
