For the production of the polypeptide of interferon group, a recombination DNA and its use are presented. Thus, the recombination DNA containing selected DNA sequences was used to transform the character of a single cell host of eucaryotes or procaryotes. The above DNA sequences were selected from (a) DNA insertion sequences of Z-pBR322(Pst)/HcIF-4C, Z-pBR322(Pst)/HcIF2h, Z-pBR322(Pst)/HcIF-SN35, Z-pBR322(Pst)/HcIF-SN42, Z-pBR287 (Pst)/HcIF-2h-AH6, Z-pBR322(Pst)/ HcIF-II-206 and Z-pBR322(Pst)/ HcIF-SN35-AHL6; (b)DNA sequences capable of hybridization with the above DNA insertion sequences and coding the polypeptide of IFN-α ; (c) DNA sequences coding polypeptide of IFN-α coded above DNA sequences and the insertions.
