A processed yarn, useful for manufacturing balls, is produced from a polyamide multifilament, in particular, a nylon 6.6 multifilament, to provide good shape stability and thermal property. The nylon 6.6 multifilaments are twisted to meet a formular (I) and are immersed in an aqueous solutin bath containing PVA and acryl blended in the ratio of 1:1 to 1.5:1 and dissolved in 5wt.% concentration. The bath- treated filaments with addition of 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% of the solution are stretched with heat treatment into 0.1 to 5.0% stretching rate. In (I), T/M=number of twist turns per meter; D=denier of feed yarn.
