PURPOSE:To impert a pattern having different color tones due to different interference colors by partially projecting a laser beam on the facing part for a wristwatch made of stainless steel in an electrolyte, and partially changing the thickness of the anodic oxide film on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The face body for a wristwatch is made of stainless steel as a sample 1, and the sample 1 is placed in about 5% nitric acid soln. 2 and placed on the sample holder on an XY table 4. The sample holder is then moved by an NC device 5, and a laser beam is partially projected on the surface of the sample 1 from a YAG laser irradiation device 3. As a result, the thickness of an anodic oxide film on the part irradiated with the laser beam is changed, hence the interference color is changed, and the face body is patterned. The ornamental effect is enhanced in this way. |
