PURPOSE: To produce an inorganic fiber molded product having high strength over a range from higher temperature to lower one, excellent in heat insulation and suitable for a substitute for asbestos by molding inorganic fiber or its preform with an adhesive comprising a lignin sulfonic acid compound and inorganic sol. CONSTITUTION: The objective molded product is produced by molding inorganic fiber or its preform with an adhesive comprising a lignin sulfonic acid compound and inorganic sol (preferable having 5-100 nm particle diameter). The mixing ratio of the lignin sulfonic acid to the inorganic sol is most preferably (10/2)-(10/10) in terms of solid mass. The molded product has nonflammability, don't cause uncomfortable irritation and is excellent in safety and health. |
