The automatic stop is used in conjunction with a closed loop temperature regulator (1) which controls the power circuit so electric power supply is delivered to the heating element only while the temperature of the oil is less than a preset level. Once the oil reaches the preset temperature the power supply is disconnected. The monitoring circuit operates on the temperature maintenance circuit to cause it to remove the drive signal from the power switch. The circuit includes a display to show the temperature that has been set by the user as the limiting temperature.
