The document holder has a flat panel 2 with a rear support 7 that allows the surface to be set at an angle. The panel has a clip at the top to retain the document in position. A specific line of text can be identified with the aid of a cursor bar 41 that is fixed to a block 4 that locates on a formed guide rail 22 along the edge of the panel. The cursor bar can be moved by a mechanism that couples with a press bar 5 at the front. When pressed the bar motion causes a toothed rack to move vertically and the teeth engage those built into the guide block. Each operation of the press bar causes movement through the pitch distance.
