摘要 Large and small-sized molecular sieve shaped bodies are provided, which have a zeolite content of 45-95% by weight and in which the properties of the zeolite are practically completely retained. The use of silicon and/or aluminium binder systems achieves high abrasion strength and fracture strength of the molecular sieve shaped bodies, which can be further improved by the addition of inorganic fibres. The production of these molecular sieve shaped bodies is carried out in a new type of process in which the zeolite to be bound is converted into a plastic mass by means of an aqueous stable silica sol, whose SiO2 particles have a BET specific surface area of from 150 to 400 m<2>/g and whose SiO2 content is between 20 and 40% by weight, and/or by means of a mixture of ethyl esters of various oligomeric methylsilicic acids and/or by means of silicones and silanes, with addition of water and plasticisers and/or fluidisers with or without inorganic fibres. The shaped bodies formed from this plastic mass are first dried and then cured under temperature conditions which do not impair the properties of the zeolite. Molecular sieve layer materials can also be produced in another new type of process in which a substrate body.... with a dry particle mixture of zeolite and SiO2 and/or Al2O3 binder optionally together with.... which can be driven off at the calcination temperature ...
