PURPOSE:To apply protection of expansion on a data compression system by selecting data with short length out of (raw) data received by a system as it is and (compression processed) data compressed by an incorporated data compressor. CONSTITUTION:The data compressor 11, a control function, and a pair or more of buffers are provided, and each pair of buffers is provided with a buffer 15 for the raw data and a buffer 13 for the compression processed data. When the raw data buffer 15 is filled, the data is sent to the compression processed data buffer 13, and when the compression processed data buffer 13 is filled first, the content of the raw data buffer 15 is transferred. The raw data from a host system is received via the (data input) line 101 of the data compression system, and is transferred to the input 103 of the compressor 11 and the data input 105 of the raw data FIFO15 simultaneously, and the data processed by the compressor 11 is inputted to the compression processed data FIFO13. In such a way, a data compression device having an expansion protecting function can be obtained. |
