PURPOSE:To improve color reproducibility of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by incorporating a specified Magenta coupler into a silver halide emulsion layer, and incorporating a compd. capable of liberating a compd. or a precursor thereof which reacts with an oxidized product of a developing agent and scavenges an oxide into a photography constituting layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of Magenta coupler expressed by formula I is incorporated into at least one silver halide emulsion layer contg. silver halide consisting substantially of silver chloride, silver chlorobromide, or silver chloroiodobromide. Further, at least one kind of compd. (DSR compd) capable of liberating a compd. or a precursor thereof which reacts with an oxidized product of a developing agent and scavenges an oxide thereof, into at least one of the photography constituting layers. In formula I, Z is a nonmetal atomic group necessary for forming an N-contg. hetero-cyclic ring; X is an H atom. or a group eliminated by a reaction with an oxidized body of a color developing agent; and R is an H atom. or a substituent. By this constitution, a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior color reproducibility is obtd. |
