PURPOSE:To simplify an operation by automatizing the command input of a log-on character string or a file transfer command character string, etc., for a host computer required at the time of performing file transfer. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing the file transfer, an operator inputs a start-up command to start up the file transfer. By inputting the start-up command, a character string data delivery means 1A in a file transfer mechanism 7 takes out necessary character string data out of an input character string data file 41 in a memory 4, and sends it to a line L automatically, then, starts the file transfer. When a necessary file is transferred, the character string data delivery means 1A takes out the character string data representing the completion of the transfer of a file again out of the input character string data file 41, and sends it to the line L, then, completes the transfer processing of the file. In such a way, it is possible to simplify the operation at the time of transferring the file.
