The present invention relates to a prosthetic ligament or tendon and also to the process for manufacturing the latter. The prosthesis according to the invention is formed from bundles (1) of fibres of biocompatable material, is equipped at one of its ends with a blocking means (2) and at its other end with at least one means (3) for fixation in the bone, and is characterised in that it comprises at least one braid consisting of a plurality of bundles, and of which the ends are integral in order to form a loop, at least one first sheath (5) surrounding at least half the length of the braid or braids, at least one second sheath (6) braided in a continuation of the first sheath or sheaths (5) and surrounding the braid or braids and the said first sheath or sheaths in such a way as to form at least one eyelet (7) intended to receive means for fixation in the bone, and in that the ends of the braid or braids, the ends of the first and second sheath or sheaths (5) and (6) are fixed together in relation to the blocking means (2). <IMAGE> |
