A circuit arrangement for separating a subcarrier signal, which is transmitted in blanking intervals of a video signal, is proposed. The circuit arrangement comprises a low-pass filter, the cut-off frequency of which can be switched during the blanking intervals, and a comparator. The video signal and the video signal transmitted from the low-pass filter is supplied to the inputs of the comparator.
