In a mop holder comprising a fixing part for a handle and a carrying part insertable into a holding pocket of a textile mop, the carrying part being adjustable in length by means of an adjusting device in such a way that the distance of two holding parts relative to one another can be varied, provision is made, to obtain a simple length adjustment over a wide range, for the adjusting device to comprise a clamping device (3) enabling continuous adjustability. The resilient ends (7) of the holding parts (2) clamp the mop in the mop holder and enable the squeezing-out of the mop in commercially available mop presses, without having to remove the mop from the mop holder. Owing to the resilience of the ends (7) it is, on the other hand, nevertheless possible to change the mop without skin contact and without bending down. <IMAGE>
