Method for the directing movement of a hydraulically actuable sheet pile wall press. Inserted into the pressing head is, instead of a sheet pile to be pressed in, the shaft of a front supporting device. The lateral supports on a clamping carriage, on the one hand, and on a rear supporting device and the front supporting device, on the other hand, can be extended alternately, the latter by actuation of the pressing head. The travelling movement of the sheet pile wall press is effected by means of a movement of the press frame with retracted front and rear supporting device with respect to the clamping carriage and the extended lateral supports. The directing movement of the sheet pile wall press is controlled by means of a rotating movement of the carriage head with retracted lateral supports of the clamping carriage and extended front and rear supporting device of the press frame.
