The invention relates to a process for the production of reclosable plastic bags directly at a filling station. According to the invention, the foil material is delivered on mutually opposite sides of the filling station. The profiles are subsequently interlocked, and thereafter the opposite side of the bag is sealed. A first transverse seam is made behind the filling station in the direction of run of the foil material. The product is thereafter introduced into the partially completed bag, and finally the bag is completed by making a second transverse seam and is severed from the continuously delivered foil material.
