A clamping pivot joint for holding two members 12, 28 e.g. of a push chair at a selective orientation relative to one another comprises a first coupling element 30 keyed on a bolt 38 and having detent formations 44 arranged to engage with complementary formations 46 on a second coupling element 34 which is journaled on the bolt 38. A knob 62 is journaled on the bolt 38 between the second coupling element 34 and a nut 88 screwed on to the bolt 28. Mutually confronting surfaces of the second coupling element 34 and the knob 62 have cam-and-follower formations 56 - 60 thereon arranged so that angular movement of the knob 62 relative to the second coupling element 34 causes axial movement of the latter to bring the complementary formations 44, 46 into and out of engagement, thereby to inhibit or allow relative angular movement. A washer 84 is disposed between the nut 88 and the knob 62, the washer 84 being keyed to the bolt 38 so as to be axially moveable therealong but restrained against rotation relative thereto.
