In the case of a plinth base for kitchen furniture, consisting of a base holder which can be fixed to the furniture by means of dowel elements and of a base part which can be detachably connected to the base holder, the base holder has, at the upper side, the fixing dowels and, diametrically thereto on its underside, drive-in pins which can be driven into and drawn out of the fixing dowels. The fixing dowels and the drive-in pins form a one-piece component with the base holder. To fix the base holder to the furniture, the drive-in pins are separated from the base holder, e.g. by hammer blows, and driven into the fixing dowels via guide bores. In this case, a non-positive connection is established between base holder and furniture. The dowel guidance likewise enables rapid demounting of the base holder by simply pulling out the drive-in pins. Moreover, there is the advantage that the mounting, and also demounting if necessary, of the plinth base can be effected without the provision of additional separate fixing means and special tools for the base holder.
