PURPOSE:To obtain high resolution by coupling a slide seal airtightly with a support device for a sample rod to be inserted into and extracted from a container containing low-temperature liquid, providing a hollow airtight member which can deform and moving a sample in an airtight state. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating container 2 which contains the low- temperature liquid is equipped with an acoustic lens 10 for projecting an ultrasonic wave beam on the sample 13. Further, the support device which supports the sample rod 11 is equipped with the slide seal 26 which is coupled airtightly with the rod 11 and the deformable bellows 19. Further, an (x)-directional moving mechanism 28 and a (y)-directional moving mechanism 29 are provided on a movable table 17c which adjusts the rod 11 to a Z direction, and an xy inclination adjusting mechanism 30 is provided on the table 29. Then the rod 11 is inserted and extracted while the container 2 is held in the airtight state, the rod 11 is moved by the mechanism 28 and 29 in the airtight state in parallel to sets the sample in a desired visual field, and the focus position is adjusted finely by the (z)-directional adjusting mechanism 17 and mechanism 30. An ultrasonic wave image with high resolution is therefore obtained. |
