The invention relates to a worktable, in particular an office desk, having a table top and two table legs which support the table top in the region of its two sides running from the front to the rear and of which at least one is constructed as a cable channel, via which the electrical power leads and/or connecting cables for the electrical equipment placed on the worktop can be fed. The retrospective fitting of power leads and/or connecting cables into the cable channels is possible even in the case of worktables set in a connected arrangement and while maintaining the connected arrangement if provision is made for attachment on the inside of one and/or the other table leg of a cable channel which is accessible via a cover detachable from the front, for the table legs to be connected to a box-like, open-topped body into which the cable channel or channels open, for the open side of the body to be connected to the worktop and covered by means of the latter, and for the worktop and/or the body to have at least one detachable cover part, via which there is access to the interior of the body.
