AUTOMATIC RETARDER CONTROLLER

An automatic retarder controller which can prevent the overheating of the engine of a vehicle and can more precisely control the vehicle to run at a constant speed. The controller is mounted on a load-carrying vehicle together with a cooled retarder (31) which exerts a braking force in response to a driving signal and automatically controls the driving signal so that the slope descending speed of the vehicle can be kept nearly constant, and is provided with a first means (22) for detecting the loading weight of the vehicle to impress the gain corresponding to the detected loading weight upon the driving signal while the controller controls the vehicle to run at a constant speed.
