The invention is based on the object of developing a private telephone branch exchange with, for example, a star-shaped cable network, in such a way that cabling can be dispensed with. The object is achieved by the fact that a group of cordless telephones in each case exhibits a common base station (15). Each base station is connected to an internal connector circuit (11) of the private branch exchange switch (10). In each base station (15), the individual subscriber codes of their associated mobile stations (25, 26) are stored.
