Two resilient legs (11, 12) and an end-piece (10) which is designed with a bipolar plug (30) are made in one piece of an electrically insulating, sterilisable plastic. A working part (25 and 26, respectively) of metal is embedded in the distal end of each leg (11, 12) facing away from the end-piece (10). Each working part (25, 26) is electrically connected to the plug (30) via a line (23, 24) of low flexural strength in comparison with the associated leg (11 and 12, respectively). This results in a comparatively light-weight forceps causing little fatigue to the surgeon using it. <IMAGE>
