PURPOSE: To obtain foodstuffs and feed formulated to exhibit the aggregated functions of an antimicrobial system in the form of an LP system and SP system by subjecting the plants in the foodstuffs or feed to a heat treatment to put plant peroxidase into an inactive state. CONSTITUTION: At the time of producing the foodstuffs or feed for animals and more particularly feed for young animals having the form of soybean milk, milk substitutive, etc., the plants existing in the foodstuffs or feed are previously heat treated at 100 to 175 deg.C and, for example, when the plants are cereals, the plants are subjected to a stewing treatment for at least 15 minutes in steam of 120 deg.C. When the plants are root fruits, the plants are boiled for at least 15 minutes and, when the plants are soybeans, the plants are treated for 15 to 75 minutes at least at 150 deg.C, by which the plant peroxidase is put into the inactive state. |
