NEW MATERIAL:An optically active 2-methyl-1-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3- pyrrolidinoi-1-propanone and salt thereof pharmaceutically allowable. EXAMPLE:l-2-Methyl-1-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-pyrrolidino-1-propanone. USE:A central muscle relaxant capable of orally or parenterally administering and expecting excellent remedy effect in improvement of spastic paralysis derived from cerebrovascular disease, cerebral palsy, spondylopathy, etc., or sthenia state of muscle tone in various diseases. PREPARATION:dl-2-Methyl-1-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-pyrrolidino-1-pr opanone is reacted with an optically active acetylphenyl glycine or optically active malic acid to afford two kind of diastereomer salts, which are then optically resolved in an acetic alkylester and crystallized diastereomer salt is decomposed to provide the above-mentioned novel substance. |
