PURPOSE:To obtain an encapsulated toner having distinct color by constituting the toner of two layers consisting of a hiding layer contg. a pigment constituted of a core material consisting of magnetic powder and a shell material having hiding power dispersed in a polymer, and a color material layer contg. a colorant formed outside of the hiding layer. CONSTITUTION:An encapsulate toner is constituted of two layers of a hiding layer 2 and a color material layer 3, wherein said hiding layer consists of a core material 1 consisting of magnetic powder and a shell material contg. a polymer having hiding power dispersed in a polymer, and the color material layer 3 contains a colorant and is formed on the outside of the hiding layer 2. A powdery inorganic pigment having >=1.9 refractive index is used for the pigment to be contained in the shell material By this constitution, the color of the magnetic powder used for the core material 1 can be hidden effectively. Examples for the inorganic pigment having >=1.9 refractive index are TiO2, ZnS, lead titanate, ZrO2, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, etc. By this method, an encapsulated toner having a distinct color is obtd. |
