PURPOSE:To improve the dyeing property of dye and the light-fastness and weather-proofness of an image by adding a modified polystylene carbonate copolymer resin synthesized by radical polymerization of an accepting layer. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 1 to be thermally transferred consists of an accepting layer on a sheet-like substrate 2. The accepting layer 3 has a carbonate bonding and ether group to a main chain synthesized by radical polymerization, and also contains a modified polystylene carbonate copolymer resin with a phenyl group in a side chain. When a phenyl group and an ester group are contained as described above, the non-crystalline state of a polymer tends to be easily formed. Consequently, the diffusion of dye tends to occur more easily, so that the dyeing property improves. When an methylene group with a long chain is contained, the number of ester bonds in a copolymer decreases relatively, and thereby the probability that the active oxygen generates in a site of ester bonds by optical excitation, reduces. For this reason, optical decomposition hardly occurs in the presence of oxygen or moisture which deteriorates dye. Subsequently, the weather-proofness is improved. |
