PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium with high durability and reflective factor which can easily form a recording layer by providing a recording layer containing at least one kind of specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a compound such as shown by a formula [I] [in the formula, X1 or X2 in a carbon atom or a sulphur atom independently, R1-R16 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, a carboxylic acid group, a sulphonic acid group, a substituted or non-substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or non-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, and a substituted or non-substituted aromatic heterocyclic ring group independently, M is a halogen atom, an oxygen atom, a metallic atom which may have (-OR29)m or (-OSiR30 R31 R32)n or a hydrogen atom] is fixed on a transparent substrate and used as a film. Recording on a recording medium is made by projecting a laser beam condensed in a flux of about 1mum on a recording layer provided on the substrate. As a result, a high sensitivity optical recording medium with high chemical and physical stability and durability as well as a high reflective factor in a semiconductor laser oscillation range is obtained. |
