A backrest for work chairs, which backrest, regarded in plan view, is concave on its side facing the sitter. What is characteristic of the invention is that, in order to match the body measurements of ca. 95% of all adults in the country, the backrest has at its lower edge a radius of curvature of 400 +- 40 mm and that at a distance of 210 +0/-110 mm above this edge the width of the backrest is reduced by <IMAGE> 25 mm on each side to a remaining width of 385 +- 25 mm. <IMAGE> |
