PURPOSE:To obtain a refractory composition having self-curing property at normal temperature, high workability and excellent corrosion resistance and spalling resistance, by using a refractory aggregate containing a basic component in combination with a binder component composed of a resol-type phenolic resin and diethyl phthalate. CONSTITUTION:The objective amorphous refractory composition containing a basic component contains a binder component comprising a resol-type phenolic resin and diethyl phthalate. The mixing ratio of the resol-type phenolic resin and diethyl phthalate is preferably 70-30wt.% to 30-70wt.%. The refractory material containing a basic component is prepared to contain >=1wt.% of a basic component as MgO component or CaO component in the composition. When the content of the MgO component or CaO component is less than 1wt.%, the curing becomes too long for practical use. |
