发明名称 MUD MATERIAL FOR TAPHOLE OF BLAST FURNACE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a mud material having excellent corrosion resistance to molten pig iron and slag and free from the phenomenon of abrupt expansion of taphole, by adding a volatile organic carbon compound to a refractory material composed of silicon iron nitride, carbon, kaolin clay and other component and kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The objective mud material is produced by adding a volatile organic carbon compound to a refractory composed of >=20 pts.wt. of a silicon iron nitride, 5-25 pts.wt. of carbon, 5-15 pts.wt. of kaolin clay and the remaining part of other refractory component and kneading the mixture. The silicon iron nitride used as a raw material is produced by nitriding ferrosilicon and composed of 70-80% of Si3N4 and the remaining part composed mainly of metallic Fe and FeSi. The Si3N4 has a nature of covalent bond substance and high oxidation resistance in itself and is hardly wettable with molten pig iron or slag, however, it slowly decomposes at >=1400 deg.C to release nitrogen. The nitrogen is supposed to react with kaolin clay in the presence of carbon and fixed in the refractory to improve the density and corrosion resistance of the mud material.
