PURPOSE:To enhance printing resistance and heat resistance by forming a surface layer having 2 layer structure composed of a first layer in contact with a buffer layer and a second layer having lower electric resistance and a free surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer 5 is composed of the first layer 5a in contact with the buffer layer 4 and the second layer 5b having a free surface and higher in resistance than the layer 5a. Accordingly, given electric charge is accumulated not in the surface of the free surface but in the interface between the high resistance layer 5a and the low resistance layer 5b, and so residual potential depends upon the layer 5a, irrespective of the layer 5b, whatever thickness the layer 5b has, thus permitting printing resistance to be enhanced by thickening the layer 5b, and consequently, abrasion of the surface of the photosensitive body due to cleaning and the like image forming steps to be lessened, and printing resistance and humidity resistance to be enhanced. |
