<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound in various proportions by a simple and favorable method, by reducing a haloethane raw material with H2 using a specific hydrogenation catalyst capable of improving initial performance thereof and excellent effects even on improvement in durability. CONSTITUTION:A haloethane raw material, such as 1,2-dichloro-1,1,2,2 tetrafluoroethane, expressed by formula I (X is F or Cl; Y and Z are Cl, F or H when X is F and the other of Y and Z is H or Cl when either of Y and Z is F; either of Y and Z is F and the other of Y and Z is Cl or H when X is Cl) and having 4 or 5 F atoms is subjected to reductive reaction with H2 in at least a stoichiometric amount in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst of an alloy consisting of the platinum family and rhenium or an oxide thereof, etc., preferably supported on a carrier, such as active carbon or alumina, at 120-450 deg.C in the vapor phase under ordinary or higher pressure for 0.1-300sec to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula II or III.</p> |
