<p>PURPOSE:To make a dedicated head for reproducing a still picture unnecessary by executing a tracking so that the instantaneous level of the tracking error signal of each rotary head can be equal. CONSTITUTION:The title device consists of a means 11 to multiply a reproduced pilot signal and a successively changing reference pilot signal, a dividing means 23 to divide a head switching signal into 1/2, a means 1 to switch the polarity of a multiplication output signal with the divided signal and to form the tracking error signal, a means 32 to hold the instantaneous level of the tracking error signal in a prescribed timing within a period in which one rotary hand scans a recording medium once, and a comparing means 33 to compare the held signal level and the instantaneous level of the tracking error signal in the prescribed timing within the period in which the other rotary head continuously scans the recording medium once. Thereafter, the tracking is executed using the output of the comparing means 33 so that the two input signal levels of the comparing means can be equal. Thus, the dedicated head for reproducing the still picture becomes unnecessary.</p> |
