METHOD FOR SWITCHING OPERATION MODE OF OPTICAL FIBER WELDING AND CONNECTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To enable the automatic switching of operation modes by detecting the marks attached to optical fiber fixing jigs and changing the operation mode in welding and connecting. CONSTITUTION:The fixing jigs 1 are set onto a welding and connecting machine body 4 by clampers 2. A mark detecting rod 11 for switching the mode is positioned in the hole 10 part of each fixing jig 1 and a switch 12 for detecting the mode switching is provided to the lower part thereof. Such detecting means is built in the welding and connecting machine body 4. The operation mode of the welding and connecting machine is switched to the mode corresponding to the optical fiber by detecting the marks attached to the fixing jigs 1. The switching is thereby automatically executed, by which the working efficiency is improved and mis-operation is prevented.
