PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent halftone color picture by deciding whether or not plural chrominance signals are outputted based on the result of detection of an achromatic component of plural color chrominance signals and the result of binarization of plural chrominance picture signals. CONSTITUTION:A minimum detection circuit 1 detect a minimum value data K0 in input chrominance signals Y', M', C'. A UCR quantity deciding circuit 2 receiving the data compares the minimum value data K0 with a parameter A and in case of K0>A, alpha=1 and in case of K0<A, alpha=o are outputted to an inking control circuit 19 respectively. On the other hand, error diffusion circuits 16-18 apply binarization processing to the Y', M', C', respectively and outputs either 0, 1 as Y0, M0, C0 to the control circuit 19. The control circuit 19 determines K0', Y0', M0', C0' outputted depending whether the output alphafrom the decision circuit 2 is 1 or 0 when the Y0, M0, C0 are all 1. |
