发明名称 BONDING OF STEEL CORD TO RUBBER
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in the breaking strength of rubber and to bond a steel cord to a rubber satisfactorily, by applying a rubber composition containing resorcinol to a steel cord surface-coated with a specified compound and vulcanizing the rubber composition. CONSTITUTION:A rubber composition containing 0.5-3 pts.wt. resorcinol and/or its condensate with formaldehyde is applied to a steel cord surface-coated with hexamethoxymethylmelamine, and vulcanized to bond the steel to the rubber. Although a process for bonding a steel cord to a rubber by using a rubber composition formed by mixing a rubber with a resorcinol/formalin precondensate and a formalin donor such as hexamethoxymethylmelamine is known and is effective to prevent the steel cord from rusting, it has a drawback that it causes a decrease in the breaking strength of the rubber. According to this process, this drawback can be prevented and the bonding force between the steel cord and the rubber can be improved.</p>
