STRIPPING AND PRESSURE REDUCTION OF MIXTURE OF SOLID AND GAS

PURPOSE: To enable depressurization without using a lock hopper or throttle valve by lowering the pressure of a mixture composed of the fine particles and gas discharged from a vessel operated under elevated temp. and pressure conditions by the friction in a conduit. CONSTITUTION: At the time of stripping and depressurizing the mixture composed of the fine particles and gas discharged from the vessel 10 operated under the elevated temp. and pressure conditions, the mixture is accepted from the vessel 10 and is carried by the conduit 11 which extends downward from the vessel 10 and has an upper end 11A and a lower end 11B. The gas is selectively injected into the conduit 11 by a gas supply source 15. Further, the volumetric ratio of the particles to the gas in the conduit 11 is maintained constant by a processor controller 22. The pressure higher than the pressure of the vessel 10 is maintained by a sluice valve 16. Further, the pressure of the mixture is reduced by the friction in the conduit 11. Consequently, the depressurization is effected without using the lock hopper or the throttle valve.
