This invention relates to 2-(4-pyridyl)-thiazole derivatives of the general formula

(wherein the substituents R1 to R6 are as defined in the specification). The invention also relates to processes for preparing such compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds are useful in increasing cardiac contractility and some of the compounds exhibit bronchodilator activity.
