PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in developer, a photosensitive body or a member which is brought into contact or approach with the photosensitive body, which is caused by thermal stress on toner, by separating members which come into contact with or approach a recording body from the recording body when non-recording actions are performed. CONSTITUTION:When a developing device 4 is recording and developing, the developer 10 is supplied to a developing roll 11 through an agitating and conveying vane 12. The developing roll 11 smoothly turns, and the developing unit 4 develops a charged latent image on a photosensitive drum 1. At the time of stopping the recording actions, firstly the rotation of the agitating and conveying vane 12 is stopped, and the supply of the developer 10 to the developing roll 11 is also stopped. Secondly the developing roll 11 rotates several times. After the developer on the side of the photosensitive drum 1 is almost empty, the rotation of the developing roll 11 is stopped. Thus, since the recording body doesn't come into contact with neither approach the heated photosensitive drum, the toner, the developer, or the photosensitive body is not deteriorated. |
