CONVERTER BLOWING METHOD BY USING PRETREATED MOLTEN IRON

PURPOSE:To reduce quantity of oxide dust by using adjusting slag at the time of blowing pretreated molten iron having the specific contents of P and S and maintaining the specific concns. and quantity of the slag. CONSTITUTION:The pretreated molten iron beforehand dephosphorized and desulfurized into <=0.04% P and <=0.02% S is blown with top blowing or combined blowing in a converter. Then, the component adjusting slag containing >=16% (MnO) concn. and <=1.5% (P2O5) concn. is used and the blowing is executed so that this slag quantity is maintained to 30-80kg/ton of molten iron. By this method, the generating quantity of the oxide dust is reduced to about 1/2-1/3 of the ordinary quantity thereof and trouble on the operation caused by the generation of large quantity of the dust is eliminated.
