PURPOSE:To work a tool of uniform shape composed of a difficult-to-cut material at a stroke by holding a high-hardness material in a reference part to carry out positioning, applying wire-cut electric discharge machining to the above by means of an NC device, and then applying a coating layer to a cutting part, etc., by means of microdeposition. CONSTITUTION:A part of a high-hardness material after heat treatment or difficult-to-work material 1, such as Ti alloy, is subjected to electric discharge machining so as to be formed into a reference part. This material 1 is held in the reference part by means of a chuck 34 and subjected to positioning in the directions of X axis and Y axis and also to rotational positioning around a vertical Z axis on cross slide tables 41, 42 and a turn table 43 by means of an NC device. Subsequently, the material 1 is subjected to wire-cut electric discharge machining by means of NC control via a wire electrode 20 vertically supported by a couple of guides 18, 19. A coating layer is applied to the cutting part or sliding part of the material 1 after the above machining by means of microdeposition by plasma, laser, etc. Then, the above reference part is cut off, by which a tool, etc., can be obtained. |
