PURPOSE:To prevent toner from adhering to a toner concentration sensor and soiling it by cooperating the toner concentration sensor together with the moving mechanism of a separating claw. CONSTITUTION:The abutting and separating of a photosensitive body 1 are repeated the same times as the number of sheets set by the separating claw 5. When said claw 5 finally abuts on said body 1, the concentration sensor 7 is moved to a detecting position facing the photosensitive body 1, then moved to a housing position at the time of separating and separated from a toner floating area near the surface of the photosensitive body 1. Namely, the separating claw 5 abuts on the photosensitive body 1 a fixed distance ahead of the resist of a transfer sheet. After the transfer sheet is moved, a fixed distance, said claw 5 separates and waits, and moves to an abutting position by turning on a separation solenoid and to the waiting position by turning off said solenoid. These actions are repeated. Thus the toner concentration sensor can be always kept clean. |
