PURPOSE:To facilitate handling of optical fibers by providing a connecting bar to a deep side opposite to an aperture along the longitudinal direction of one semicylindrical body within said body and laminating and imposing surplus length housing cases on a surplus length housing case supporting base on the surface which is on an upper side at the time if handling the connecting base, then dispersedly housing the respective optical fibers therein. CONSTITUTION:The connecting bar 17 is connected to both cable gripping fittings 15 respectively via curved type auxiliary connecting plates 26 in such a manner that said bar exists on the deep side opposite to the aperture along the longitudinal direction in one of the semicylindrical bodies 2, 3. The surplus length housing case supporting base 28 is fixed to the connecting bar 17 on the face of the one semicylindrical body opposite to the aperture along the longitudinal direction thereof. The plural surplus length housing cases 31 are laminated on the surplus length housing case supporting base 28 and are supported freely removably by supporting bars. The connecting bar 17 is thereby prevented from getting in the way of operation. Since the surplus length parts 24A of the respective optical fibers 24 are dispersedly housed in the plural surplus length housing cases, the handling of the fibers is facilitated without having the need for touching the unnecessary optical fibers 24.
