The invention relates to a process for producing a purlin roof with a framework structure and to the purlin roof produced by the process. The bar-type profile bodies forming the bottom purlin and top purlin and, if appropriate, the middle purlin, are fastened on a profiled, panel-type roofing element. The panel-type roofing element is then rotated through 180@ about its longitudinal axis. Two framework elements formed by a bottom chord and bars are fastened on the longitudinal borders of the panel-type roofing element. A longitudinal load-bearing member is then fastened on the free end portions of the bottom chords. The first roof element formed in this way is turned around. A second roof element is configured in the same way as the first. The first roof element, horizontally aligned, is then seated and vertically supported on a wall-side bearing means, and a second roof element, likewise horizontally aligned, is subsequently seated on an opposite wall-side bearing means, and the two roof elements are then connected together. This procedure is repeated until the entire roof surface is formed.
