PURPOSE:To obtain a stable reproduction signal with which a peak shift does not arise by symmetrically forming the patterns of several bits before and after the reference lines in respective information tracks. CONSTITUTION:The information track 41 is constituted of synchronizing bits 42 for forming a detection window at the time of data reproduction the reference line 43 which is positioned on the center line of the information track and indicates that data can be reproduced, start bits 44 which indicate the first position of the data and a data region 45. The start bits 44 are constituted of 3 bits and the two bits before and after the reference line 43 are symmetrical. The exact detection of the reference line is thereby enabled without producing the peak shift and the stable on-track signal is obtd. if the information tracks are reproduced by the line sensor.
