Needle printer with a printing-mechanism carriage

A needle print head (5) is fixed on the carriage device (4). This printing-mechanism carriage (4/5) is mounted on an eccentric shaft (2) so as to be displaceable parallel to a roller platen (6). Fixed on a centric end (2a) of the shaft (2) is a lever (16) by means of which the shaft (2) can be rotated and the spacing between the needles (5a) of the print head (5) and the roller platen (6) can thus be changed. The lever (16) engages in a circular arc-shaped cutout (10) in the side (1) of the printer frame. An edge (11) of the cutout (10) has two regions of radially aligned catch points (12, 13) into which the lever (16) can engage with a catch lug (17). By means of the one catch-point region (12), the spacing between the printing needles (5a) and the roller platen (6) can be increased. By means of the other catch-point region (13), the erosion of the needles can be compensated.
