In the circuit, a font generator (PM3) makes horizontal scan with application of high potential and vertical scan with application of high potential to a scan control terminal to give sequential outputs by 8 bits of 40X40 font image from output terminals of the generator (PM3) according to clock signals of a clock and pulse signals of vertical scan start terminal. When the font image of the 8 bits output applies to output terminals of AND Gates, the high potential of the font control applies to the other terminals of the Gates to give outputs and apply them to inputs of OR Gates, which the outputs the font image from (PM3).
